One of the first things I wanted to test with the D90 was the audio quality. I was initially concerned because there was no external in [for a mic], but I was pleasantly surprised on how it performed. In general I would say its on par with most of the consumer HD cameras on the market. Not the best but it produces solid audio that you can manipulate if needed in post. I was also super stoked with how the Steadicam performed with the camera… although my technique is still novice…

Tim, I’m sure you know about the new 5D Mark 2, external Mic in, but your a nikon guy and your lenses won’t work with canon stuff. It seems like the best choice if your going to do some video these days and your not into the whole production stage, is to go with a DSLR that shoots 30p HD, Know anyone that wants to buy a Canon HV20 with a Canon wide angle? The new sony a900, I can imagine that it does make good use of all your Nikkor lenses? Just askin, kuz I haven’t read much into it. By the way… how you been?
