I’ve been hinting at it for a while, but things are finally in place so I can announce this officially… I’ve teamed up with Renan Ozturk and Jimmy Chin and formed a video capture, editing, and distribution brand called – Camp4 Collective — http://camp4collective.com

The idea came up last December when Renan, Jimmy and I were at the headquarters for The North Face. Amongst us, we produced the majority of the content for TNF and wanted to find a way to take their video needs and our creative ideas to the next level. They were psyched to support us and we loved the idea of being able to work together collaboratively, finally. When things started coming together it was like a whole new door had been opened; just thinking of the pieces we could put together made us wanna hyphy. Seriously.

We are hoping that this is just the start to bigger projects, with TNF and other brands that aspire to communicate their message authentically through video, as well as a place to foster relationships with friends and colleagues who are talented artists as well. Well I had hoped to announce the soft launch of my new website today, but its just not in the cards [stay tuned for it later this week?]. Well we set out to shoot a little how to video this past weekend in Mallorca. We are afterall hanging out with some of the best climbers in the world, so who better to talk about the equipment that we are using to get the really unique strobed shots we have been taking? This was our setup shot… then things didn’t go quite as expected. Check it out:

100 Days

As many of you know I was on a string of back to back to back shoots this Spring. We were running all over the place… Mallorca, Morocco, China and more. And as the title suggests all of the shoots took place in the hundred days from the beginning of February to the middle of May. I can’t share all of the shoots, but most of the good stuff is in here. This was one of those projects that just seemed to never end… How hard can it be to throw a bunch of photos into a slideshow and make a movie? Well, it takes a lot longer than you might think, as I found out, and there are probably some small tweaks that could be made to the video, but other projects are piling up. Thanks to all of folks helped out with this video, in the images and behind the scenes. You all rock and everyone here is stoked to have you on the team.

Another Nor’easter Video

I did a week long shoot in April for the promoters of the Noreaster (an art/music/outdoor festival coming to the metro Boston area in September). The images and video are going to be used for viral marketing purposes the next few months. This short is of Kevin Jorgeson making the second rope-less ascent of ‘the fly’ the hardest route on the East Coast.
